The annual NTUC May Day Awards recognises union leaders, tripartite partners, and model workers who have contributed significantly to improving workers' wages, welfare and work prospects.

This year, NTUC Immediate Past President Mary Liew was conferred the Distinguished Service (Star) award for her dedication towards the advancement of workers' rights and welfare.

Meanwhile, a total of 42 organisations and companies were presented with May Day awards for their outstanding role in promoting workers' interests.

These organisations received awards under the Plaque of Commendation (Star), the Plaque of Commendation (Gold), the Plaque of Commendation, and the Partner of Labour Movement categories.

Some 137 individuals were also honoured for their efforts in championing workers' interests.

The individual awardees hailed from both the private and public sectors, and have been instrumental in driving positive change within their respective spheres.

They have embraced innovative programmes and solutions to transform workplaces, promoted lifelong learning initiatives to enhance workers' employability, represented workers' concerns, and served as exemplary leaders and role models.
